Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve got a list of favorite photo spots around Denver that I’m always happy to share, and we’ll talk through options during our consultation. If you already have a location in mind, especially one that means something to you, I’m open to it. Most sessions work great within about 45 minutes of Denver, and mountain locations (like Breckenridge and beyond) are absolutely an option for an additional travel fee. Sometimes the views earn their mileage.

  • Light is everything, and it behaves best shortly after sunrise or about 90 minutes before sunset. Evening sessions are usually ideal for mountain locations, while urban spots can work well in both the morning and evening. Midday sun has strong opinions and very little mercy, so we usually avoid it when possible.

  • Yes. A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date and time. If you need to reschedule, the retainer may be applied to a future session when at least 48 hours’ notice is provided, subject to availability. Sessions canceled without rescheduling will result in forfeiture of the retainer.

  • After your session, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance. You can pay by credit card, or cash is also fine if you prefer to pay in person.

  • You’ll receive a private online gallery with high resolution JPEG images that are ready to download, share, and print. Most galleries are delivered within 7 to 10 days, with turnaround closer to 10 to 14 days during the busier summer and fall months. Any additional retouching usually takes another 3 to 4 days. I promise I’m editing, not just staring at them!

  • Every delivered image is edited, which includes color correction, exposure adjustments, and overall consistency.
Retouching is the more detailed work. Things like removing blemishes or stray hairs. Depending on your session, you’ll be able to select a certain number of images for retouching if needed.

  • For families or groups, one outfit (maybe two) usually works best. Keep in mind that too many outfit changes can quickly eat into shooting time! For individual sessions, bring options. Mini sessions (30 minutes) typically work best with one outfit, though quick changers sometimes manage two.

  • Yes! Friends and family are always welcome. A support crew can be a huge help. Dogs are welcome too, as long as the location allows them. Some parks and spaces have pet restrictions, so we’ll confirm that ahead of time. Just keep in mind that dogs tend to steal the spotlight, so it’s best to have someone else there to wrangle them after we get a few great shots.

  • The short answer is no. RAW files are unfinished and don’t represent the final look of my work. It's kind of like getting the ingredients instead of the finished meal. You’ll receive fully edited images that reflect the style you booked.

  • Yes. I work throughout the Front Range and beyond. Please note that sessions more than 45 minutes from Denver may include a travel fee, which we’ll discuss ahead of time.
