About Me

I’m Matt, a Denver portrait photographer, Colorado native, and lifelong outdoors enthusiast who will absolutely wait an extra twenty minutes for the light to do what it’s supposed to do. I’m 35, engaged to the most incredible person in the world, and together we’re raising three teenage boys, which means life is loud, busy, unpredictable, and full in all the right ways. That probably explains why I care more about real moments than anything overly polished or staged.

I’ve been involved in photography in one way or another since 2009, and I’ve been taking paid photography commissions for over a decade. Portrait photography has been a big part of that journey. I’ve worked with seniors, families, and individuals across Colorado, photographing real people in real situations. That experience has shaped how I work today, staying flexible, reading the room, and keeping sessions comfortable even when someone starts out feeling unsure in front of the camera.

My approach is simple. I guide you through the process, take the awkward guesswork out of posing, and create space for genuine moments to happen naturally. Whether I’m photographing high school senior photos, family portraits, headshots, or lifestyle sessions, the goal stays the same. Images that feel real now and still feel like you years down the road.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me taking road trips to photograph Colorado landscapes, playing music, or convincing my fiancée to hang out while I wait for “just five more minutes” of good light. She deserves a medal for her patience. Photography, for me, isn’t about trends or perfect poses. It’s about connection, trust, and creating images that don’t feel forced or stiff.

If you’re looking for a Denver photographer who keeps things relaxed, honest, and a little fun along the way, you’re in the right place.
